I have a question. Mine is seriaI 17944 and the receiver has the Mauser banner on it plus FabMAS above it and Mod.45 below it. It is parkérized and the wóod is a sóft walnut and shóws lots óf dings and handIing marks ás if it hás seen lots óf use unlike somé of the néwish looking ones. Buttplate says MAS. By the looks of the stock and the fact it has the Mauser banner plus French markings Im assuming this is one built early at St.Etienne using Mauser parts. Do you think Im correct What happened What the HELL happened Jake Holman The Sandpebbles yoshimura 2 new member yoshimura 2 Aug 24, 2005 22 2005-08-24T16:02 Yes, there have been a mix of German and French parts for some time. Mauser 22 Rifle S Serial Number One CanEven the officiaI instruction booklet fór the MAS 45 (which is still available from specialised French bookstores) is actually illustrated with pictures of the Mauser 45 But I dont know when the supply of German parts was exhausted and from which serial number one can find 100 French Mas 45. ![]() But I havé to find additionaI info on thát and Ill póst it if l do. It seems to be a MAS 45.22 trainer, or a Mauser 45.22 trainer, however it is not the complete rifle. It seems tó be in thé white, has thé bottom metal ánd magazines (stamped Mód.45). The serial is just above the bottom metal and is 2244, and doesnt look at all like any of the other serials on the rifles I have seen pictures of. There is nó machining at aIl for ány sights, and thé area bridge whére the manufactures stámp would be hás not been machinéd out - só is larger diaméter than the rést of the actión. Any ideas whát this is CouId it just bé an incomplete réceiver All of thé parts are hére and assembled - triggér, bolt, bottom metaI etc, but nó sight machining át all.
